Lifting local government productivity – the challenges The Productivity Commission is undertaking an inquiry into funding and financing arrangements for authorities. In their draft report the Commission found that Councils need new tools to deal with specific cost pressures. Roading and transport are a major area of local government expenditure; Murray will share with you emerging thoughts on the final recommendations to the Government and what this means for setting priorities and decision making. |
