Review of Strobe Lighting
In 1995 TranzRail undertook a review of lighting at rail crossings, using the Wairarapa as the test site. As a result of the review, TranzRail decided to phase out strobe lighting in favour of LED flashing lights. This decision recognises the technical advances in LED flashing lights over the years.
The policy favouring LED flashing lights has since been endorsed by ONTRACK.
