Model bylaw for livestock movements

The Stock Crossings Working Group has approved a Model Bylaw for Livestock Movements that may be used as a template by any Council wishing to regulate the movement of livestock across or along roads within its district. It is anticipated that each Council considering using the Model Bylaw will consider the local needs and circumstances to be addressed and adapt the template accordingly.

An introductory Commentary on the Model Bylaw explains the purpose and function of the Model Bylaw, the statutary authorities under which it may be made and the process for making a bylaw.

Both the Commentary and the Model Bylaw are incorporated in the revised Stock Crossings Guidelines.
