Asset Performance Monitoring Working Group
The Asset Performance Monitoring Working Group was established in 2005 and charged with creating a high level set of benchmarks for Road Controlling Authorities that:
- Show progress against the objectives of the Land Transport Management Act
- Drive and demonstrate continuous improvement
The measures must also:
- Correctly influence decision making and the allocation of resources
- Be meaningful and useful to all stakeholders
- Demonstrate effective and responsible transportation (multi modal) and asset management.
One self imposed constraint is that these benchmarks will be developed using readily available existing data and data that is currently collected. The structure and presentation of the benchmarks will enable RCAs to compare their performance with the National Average, with their peers or a subset of their peers and within their own organisation over time.
